Meet Our Student Ambassador

Claire Thompson spent nearly a month in Italy this past July as the Saluda Sister City Student Ambassador. She had a wide range of experiences and was introduced to many aspects of Italian culture as a result of her stays with the Carunchio mayor’s family, the truffle hunter’s family, and a week at the Carunchio Palazzo.

Now she is ready to tell us how this trip has affected her perspective on the world and her outlook on life. Equally important, her parents, Charley and Robert Thompson, will also speak about their perspective on how student travel impacts the family. They entertained our Italian student visitor, Benedetta Formisano, when she was here a few summers ago, and then supported their daughter Claire, while she traveled alone to Italy.
