"When my dad used to ask me what I wanted to do when I was older, the job would change, but I would always say I wanted to learn more about the world. Although my ideas for a career path have changed drastically since I was 8, traveling has continued to be a priority when I think about my future. Through the support of our town, I’m lucky enough to travel on my own even younger than I expected, an opportunity not many are afforded. I look forward to educating myself on other perspectives. I think the biggest reason why I’ve always been interested in travel is because I’ve always been interested in people as well. I love meeting new people and learning about the world through their eyes. When in Carunchio, Italy, I will be able to meet new people and build connections a continent away, allowing me to see and explore other cultures in a way that I’m not able to do in the States, through books, or the internet. Once in Italy, I hope I can meet as many new people as possible and build strong connections with them that I can carry back to the States. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and hope that the support of the Sister City program will continue so others will be able to find the same amazing experiences that I’m going to find in Italy. I can’t wait to come back and share my stories with all of you! Thank you again!"
